When asked about his decision to join Pryml, Chad said, “I'm very big on looking clean and aesthetically pleasing whether I'm out on a casual vibe or whether I'm in the gym lifting. I personally feel that Pryml’s apparel offers both. I also enjoyed my interactions with the Pryml family and their constant support of me.”
Exclusive Interview with Chad
We sat down with Chad to learn more about his journey, inspirations, and his vision for the future with Pryml. Here’s what he had to say:
Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got started in football? Chad: "I’m originally from Barbados but moved to the UK very young with my mother. I went to secondary school in Kent and then to Hertfordshire University, where I started American Football. Within two years of playing, I made the GB National Team and then turned pro in 2021. It all started from me just walking around the sports fair at university, and one of the American football players approached me, telling me to roll through to the taster session."
Q: What has been the most challenging moment in your career so far, and how did you overcome it? Chad: "Probably tearing my obliques in my first game of the season last year (‘23). I had worked extremely hard that previous off-season and had sacrificed a lot to be on the field. I overcame it by keeping my faith in the most high but also remembering that I have a greater purpose. I found ways to still help my team and found ways to speed up the rehab process to allow me to finish out the season."
Q: What drew you to join the Pryml family? Chad: "I'm very big on looking clean and aesthetically pleasing whether I'm out on a casual vibe or whether I'm in the gym lifting. I personally feel that Pryml’s apparel offers both. I also enjoyed my interactions with the Pryml family and their constant support of me."
Q: How do you see your role as a Pryml ambassador aligning with your personal and professional goals? Chad: "Me personally, I would never align myself with a brand that I felt didn’t match my personal or professional goals. So with Pryml, I see the concepts of family, hard work, and style. These things are very important to me and play a major role in my personal and professional life. If you look good, you play good. When you play good, they pay good!"
Q: How do you balance your demanding career with maintaining a healthy and stylish lifestyle? Chad: "Luckily for me, my main job during this time is being an athlete, so being healthy is part of the job role in a way as it helps me to perform on the field. It isn’t always the easiest as I do work remotely as well, meaning that sometimes I can be physically and mentally drained. The best thing to do is find little hacks to reduce the time it takes to eat healthy (like finding a meal prep company) but also finding recovery hacks (I have ReBoots so I can work whilst recovering). I incorporate style into my healthy lifestyle. I always make sure I look clean even in the gym, on the field, and in practice. My mother always taught me that you never know who is watching, so never lack."
Q: Can you share a memorable moment from your career that has significantly impacted you? Chad: "Signing my first pro contract was that moment that impacted me big time. It really let me know that you can actually achieve nearly anything you put your mind to, as long as you keep faith in the most high."
